Julie Amero and bad hair
Tuesday, February 27th, 2007Julie Amero’s situation is horrifying. Apparently she was working at a substitute teacher and after a colleague logged her in, she allowed some of the students to look for hairstyles online. Heh. I could’ve told her that was a bad idea– I don’t know why, but every time I’ve googled for hairstyles I’ve gotten so many porn links it was truly amazing. Anyway, she left the classroom for a moment and when she came back there were many many porn pop-ups with thumbnail-sized pictures on the monitor. Long story short, the school district decided she was purposely looking for thumbnail sized porn while teaching some seventh graders, and are prosecuting her.
It seems too ridiculous to be true, but having had my screen covered with porn pop-ups after looking for hairstyles, I’m inclined to believe her. What I really can’t believe is the way the school & the parents responded. WTF?
