In daily operation: 2.  Not working & kept for sentimental value: 7?
How much time do you spend on the computer in a day? 5 hours
How does the time break down? (work/play/email/blogs/etc.) work: 3 hrs, blogs 2 hrs
If your computer malfunctions, do you-
Log in as root and fix the problem in a few swift keystrokes?
Get some online help and fix it yourself with slightly slower keystrokes?
Enlist outside help? from whom? How does he or she respond when you ask for assistance?
Opt for the wishful thinking computer repair strategy, also known as the reboot-with-fingers-crossed strategy?
I have a Mac, it never malfunctions.

What techno-gadget would you most like to own? Hmm . . .  I’m not really *hungering* for anything, but if I had to chose, probably a new laptop.  If someone was handing out free stuff, maybe a new digital camera or an iPhone (but only if I didn’t have to pay the monthlies!)
Of those you own (including PDA, iPod, etc.), which would you miss most acutely if you dropped it in the lake accidentally while canoeing? my cell
What’s something you’ll never buy? (Careful with the nevers, though, says this brand new cell phone owner.)  DVD player for the car (because if I were going to throw my values out the window and introduce TV to the car, I’d use the laptop, lol!)
