They caught me on a bad day

Got a letter offering me a Personal Invitation to cheaper auto/home insurance with a company that will ‘treat me well’.  And they annoyed me, so I wasted a bunch of breath telling the giant corporation that they are assholes.  I have no doubt they’ll be changing policy immediately . . .  /sarcasm off

Hi–
I just wanted to offer a little feedback.  I had never heard of Amica until my husband got a letter in the mail today.  The letter talked about how we’d been “pre-screened” and waxed poetic about how we’d be treated so well.  So I came to the website to check it out.  When I got to the website, I discovered that despite my ‘prescreened’ status and entering my Personal Invitation Number, your system has no idea who I am and wants me to tell you, the people who wrote me, where I live, etc, etc.  Apparently this Personal Invitation Number has nothing to do with treating me well, and everything to do with verifying your own marketing.  Darn - I’d hoped the company who promised to treat me well would strive to do better.
Secondly, I find this credit-score verification process really offensive.  We are very good drivers — I drove professionally, hundreds of miles a day, for many years with no accidents or claims.  But we are also broke — I have decided to stay home with the our three kids, and my husband’s job pays horribly.  Consequently, our credit sucks.  This verification process may be the norm in your industry, but it’s just crappy coming from a company that brags about how well I’ll be treated.  Progressive has treated me well enough, I’ll continue to send them my $300 a month.
So, yeah — I’d never heard of you before, and you’ve made a HORRIBLE first impression.  You can be assured I’ll tell my friends.

I wish I could say it made me feel better, but knowing no one will read it puts a damper on that.

How’s your week?

What’s up with the kids?
