Bullet points

*Operation Twin Toddlers to Big Kid Bed looked like it was going to be seamless, but was actually a fail.

*Going off your meds can cause you to cry when pondering the wonderfulness of a friend. Like, you’re driving along in your car, and a song makes you think of a friend, and you think of how great that friend is, and then you cry. And then another song makes you think of another friend, and you think of how great *they* are, and you cry some more.

*Or maybe it was because you were going to the shelter to pick up a sick cat to take to rescue & be treated, but when you got there the cat had died. Sigh.

*Spouse has work! Not a lot, but some — a 30 hr/week temp job that should run for six months. There’s a lot or rice in our future, but at least the temp agency provides benefits.

*Foster dogs getting adopted is GREAT.

*Foster cats getting adopted, only to have the person email you and say they ‘found another kitten! and won’t be able to adopt yours’ is NOT.

Lastly, I am out of ideas for dinner. What did you cook recently?

Um, last night we had Hamburger Helper. My husband, the professional chef. Really.

Night before, pasta with chickpeas. While the pasta is boiling, mince a garlic clove and sizzle it in a pan with olive oil and some red pepper flakes for a few minutes. Drain a can of chickpeas, throw them in a bowl, pour garlic and hot oil over them and mix. Add cooked pasta, salt/pepper/cheese. We had with a salad, but you can also throw spinach or other greens in with the pasta while it’s cooking.

(As you can see, we are on the “penny pinching until Mommy gets paid on Friday” menu plan this week.)

Yea for spouse having work! Awesome!

I made a mexican casserole on Monday night and hubby and I thought it was ok, but the kids didn’t like it. Then my mom made lasagna and we’ve been eating that for a few days. I’m listing two links here that I love to use to get ideas:
    http://thepioneerwomancooks.com/
    http://foodblogsearch.com/

I love the Pioneer Woman because she shows you step by step how to make something (for people like me who are culinarily challenged-did I just make up a new word?) and she uses ingredients that I can easily find in my grocery store.

Hope you find something that inspires you! (((HUGS)))
